Bashira Bellydance is a community dance group that has been together for more than ten years. In 2012, classes are held at West Bathurst Public School on Wednesdays from 6pm.
Bellydancing is an ancient form of dancing, originating from the middle east. It is women's dance, done by women to improve their fitness and vitality for centuries. As almost no moves are done using the stomach, calling it hip dancing or torso dancing would be more accurate. Sometimes, bellydancing is referred to as Middle Eastern folkloric dance.
The lovely girls who make up Bashira Bellydance don't care what it is called, they just love to express their femininity in dance! If you would like to come and have a go at bellydancing, there is absolutely no need to ever show your stomach, wear a soft comfortable skirt or pants and a t-shirt or tank top. Come prepared for a wiggle and a giggle!!
